Why Bauer-Build exists
Commercial construction asks owners to make expensive decisions in an unfamiliar language, allowances, submittals, value engineering, code triggers, long-lead procurement. Getting one of those wrong early tends to show up later as a change order, a missed opening date, or a building that does not fit how the business works.
Bauer-Build was founded to remove that gap. We translate construction into business terms, put the decisions in front of you while they are still cheap to make, and take responsibility for what happens on site.
Who you're working with
Bauer-Build was established in 2025 by Erik Bauer, owner and general contractor, who brings 27 years of experience in the construction industry. That experience is the product: you deal directly with the person responsible for the estimate, the schedule and the crews on site.
The work we take on
We specialize in the remodel and renovation of existing commercial space, from heavy industrial manufacturing facilities to professional office environments. If the space is commercial, it's in scope.
We've delivered veterinary clinics and are actively pursuing dental and medical office build-outs, where precise coordination of mechanical, plumbing and specialty equipment matters most. Straight retail fit-outs are generally not our focus.
Our mission
To plan and deliver commercial construction around our clients' business goals, with trusted teams, clear communication, and honest accountability for budget and schedule, so the finished space supports growth rather than constraining it.
Trusted trade partners
A general contractor is only as good as the trades on the job. We work with a qualified network of subcontractors evaluated on capability, safety record, financial stability and how they perform when a project gets difficult.
Bids are scope-leveled line by line before award so the comparison is honest, and we pay our trade partners on time, which is the practical reason good crews come back to our projects.
Communication and accountability
Every project gets regular written reporting: progress, cost against budget, pending changes, schedule status and what we need from you next. Changes are priced and approved before work proceeds. When something goes wrong, and on construction projects something eventually does, you hear it from us first, with options.

Budgets come with written assumptions and exclusions. If something is unknown, we call it unknown and carry it as an allowance rather than burying it.
